Revisiting Narnia, edited by Shanna Caughey
Some of these essays were so brilliant I wanted to track down their authors and hug them, some of them were enjoyable despite their flaws, and a very few were obnoxiously stupid. One person's stupid is another's insightful, I guess. But hurray for the rest of the essays!

Moominpappa at Sea, by Tove Janssen
Oh man, I hadn't read a Moomin book in ages, and they are even better than I remembered. I'd forgotten how dark and wry they can get.

Hot Six, by Janet Evanovich
Goofy, sexy, and amusing. Despite fears, am not tiring of series.

Necklace of Kisses, by Francesca Lia Block
Hm. I was never fully enamoured of this book, even though I really wanted to be. I love the earlier books I've read about these characters. This one had moments of great sparklitude, and I enjoyed it - it wasn't a waste of time - but there just wasn't as much there there. Or it was trying too hard to be like the other books instead of just being like them. Or something. Bummer.

Crown of Lights, by Phil Rickman
Went back and filled in the book in this series that I missed. Was well worth filling in, despite sense of deja vu. Unexpected upside: Am secure in knowledge that while protagonist's daughter will get even more irritating, she will also grow out of it. Very very hard to put down for the last 200 pages or so.

My personal favourite Moomin story is "Moominland Midwinter"
