Sammy's Hill, by Kristin Gore
Chick lit crossed with The West Wing. Finished stronger than it started (a good thing), and I eventually became rather attached to the main character.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, by Benedict Flynn, read by Sean Bean
Okay, so it's just possible I got this so I could listen to the lovely voice of Sean Bean for 2.5 hours. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the story. I read so many Arthurian adaptations that push the envelope in one or the other direction that it was nice to hear something so simple and straightforward which nonetheless really carried the heart of the story. Really hearkens back to the Malory, more than anything else.

Sean Bean is swoonirrific! I have always been a huge fan of Arthurian legends. I had to write a screenplay for the King Arthur stories (for animation) and that made me research everything from Malory to bathroom stall limericks. Tough stuff.

Joseph Campbell had a fascination with Arthurian mythologies, too, which spawned my interest back in grade school. I should check out this Sean Bean reading. Thanks for the notice! :)
