I don't read much chick lit, but this one was highly recommended by ... someone, and I actually enjoyed it a great deal. It has a bittersweetness to it. Dark chocolate, not popcorn. And the first-person narrator comes off as very smart and hopelessly naive all at once. I felt like the happy ending was temporary, something other reviewers don't seem to agree on, but which added to my appreciation of the book.
