...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
Urban college student dines out and/or cooks for friends. Chicken souvlakis, falafel, macaroni and cheese (the kind your mom made), selected Chinese and Korean dishes whose names I don't remember but which I was once taught to make from scratch, etc. Most definitely pierogis. Most definitely hot chocolate, not too sweet, in a bowl. Poutine. I couldn't not serve poutine.
...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?
Cell phones! Ha. I crack myself up. Books of course. With a discerning selection of the traditional sidelines like CDs, movies, rubber bouncing balls, etc.
...wrote a book, what genre would it be?
Creative nonfiction. The kind where you think, "Huh. It'd be cool to write books like that one for a living." (As opposed to the kind where you think, "Jesus Christ, I could write a better book than that.")
...ran a school, what would you teach?
What people wanted to learn. In all seriousness, I'd want to run the kind of school that had the humungo-big reference resources of doom, and then learn things with people - help them find out about whatever their driving curiosities were. Within that framework, I'd probably tend to lean more towards humanities/science fields, and leave the business/political science things to someone else. Most of the time.
...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
The kind of soul that sounds like people having sex, only not messy. Like Curtis Mayfield. Or Ann Peebles.
