heavy things

My mind is full and zippy tonight, overflowing with thoughts.
But I've been thinking about my affinity for heavy things.
Particularly stone, in all its incarnations.
I was musing that I need to buy a stone egg, one of those wonderfully heavy hand-sized ones. Then I realized that I have two of them already, but I never let them out from their boxes after moving into this apartment.
I moved into this apartment two YEARS ago.
Similarly, one of my anchors is still packed. This particular anchor is a very round and heavy stone, about two pounds or more in weight. I pried it from the red clay road that belonged to my grandfather. It was a few days after he died, and the grounds were to be sold to a young family I didn't know at all. So I dug the stone out of the ground, and put 18 years of memories into it, and put it in the car. Then I walked down to the beach and back up to the pine grove.
I suspect that there are about a hundred important stones that need to be released from closet bondage, and I've made myself curious, in thinking about them, as to what else I've almost forgotten.
The week after exams, these rooms are undergoing a most thorough exploration.

Suddenly the reason I wanted your world-bottle to have a guardian statue and careful stonework makes a little more sense. I'm smarter than I think.

I think it was your telling me that about my bottle that made me think about my stones.
I mean, I'm generally somewhat AWARE of stones, but I hadn't thought about them in a focused way for quite some time.

I occasionally am amazed at the stuff I own and don't realize/remember is there. The Bunker is probably full of all kinds of things I've been wanting or needing or would have liked to have, but didn't realize were hiding up there. Sounds like you've got similar tendancies. ::)
