I Love You, Author of This Book
Dec. 9th, 2007 10:29 pmWell, not really, but:
I Love You, Beth Cooper, by Larry Doyle
This book rocked like a rocking awesome thing. Seriously, I started reading it slightly after I posted my last post and then finished it about 2 hours ago (had to watch an episode of Sharpe before coming down here to blog about it, see).
Story of what happens after a high school valedictorian uses his valedictory speech to blurt out his enduring love for the girl who has been sitting in front of him since seventh grade. I was pretty damn skeptical going in, fearing something gimmicky & dubious that it would actually a) be funny and b) have any emotional depth, but the book won me over - and made me hoot with laughter more than once - at one point, I had to pull myself back together because my sides hurt. Much delighted with it. Wow.
