Okay, so I've been working on this ancient map of the world in cross stitch for 3 years, off and on, and it's finally finished and finally photographed and finally uploaded. (Major thank yous to raisinbottom for loan of camera, help taking pictures, and initial processing, and to cria_cow for webspace and helpful instructions.)

Ooh. That's pretty nifty. I didn't know they made cross-stitch patterns that weren't fluffy bunnies and wildflowers or similarly goofy themes.

Thanks. There are actually a lot of cool patterns out there, they're just generally overwhelmed by the fluffy bunny sort... check out unchartedterritory.com - i've seen finished examples and yes, they really do live up to expectations.

We had a travelling nurse working on our floor for a while who was working on her third full-scale cross-stitch Monopoly(tm) board. Not flubby funnies, but definitely goofy.
