I just talked to my sister (the Vancouver one) about BOOKS. For about two hours. I had this list from Fadiman's The New Lifetime Reading Plan, starting with the epic of Gilgamesh and ending with Chinua Achebe, with an appendix about modern authors one might also appreciate, and we basically just went down the entire list of 200-some books and jabbered about all the ones we'd read or heard about and what we thought of them and if we probably read them when we were 8 and whether or not they just might be worth revisiting. And so forth.
It was so fun. My sister is super keen.
