haven't done this for a while

- had to get up really early today
- woke up an hour earlier even than that
+ brought 2 computers and assorted mother-boarded paraphenalia to be recycled
+ good breakfast
+ hung out with the geese, ducks, and a heron at the pond
+ sat on the stumpy part of a tree and read bits of John Burroughs while two red squirrels took turns peering over my shoulder
- got cold
+ warmed up by taking a walk up the creek to the small human-made waterfall where I like to sit on the rocks
+ grasshoppers everywhere on the way there
+ more reading on the rocks, and a nap
- accidentally flung my stuff everywhere when I woke up
+ had to scramble around on the rocks to get it
- realized there was a ton of trash caught at the edge of the fall
+ realized I had two much-used plastic bags in my pack, and gathered up 2 bags full of recyclable bottles
- there are still a few bags worth of trash there (grr, lack of city taxes)
+ the trail on the way back was delightfully brushy and unkempt (silver lining, lack of city taxes)
++ I saw so many dragonflies while walking back that I lost count

It was! Even when I had to go back there later because I accidentally left my book on the rocks:).
