What Doctors Feel, by Danielle Ofri
Really interesting, honest assessment of the role of emotion in medicine, talking about both statistical and existential truths.

Digger, vols. 1-6, by Ursula Vernon
I inhaled all of this. It is marvelous. If you click on the link above, you can read the whole thing for free! Or you can do like I did and get just a little ways in before deciding you must read it in physical books.

Steelheart, by Brandon Sanderson
Plotful, earnest, and intricately constructed. (Those are all good things.) Not my favorite Sanderson, but I still read it in like a day.

Maude: The Not-so-Noticeable Shrimpton, by Lauren Child, illustrated by Trisha Krauss
Splendid, crazy kid's picture book. Deadpan is one of my favorite tones, when it comes to stories for children.

Wearing the Cape, by Marion G. Harmon
About-to-go-to-college debutante type in Chicago becomes a superhero in a world where "breakthrough" superpowers are increasingly common. This was really well-told, although *sometimes* it was a little too male-gazey. Still, it was mostly awesome.

RASL, vol. 1: The Drift, by Jeff Smith
This was really irritating until like the last 50 pages. Now I want to see how the next one goes.
