The Zen of Fish, by Trevor CorsonTrevor Corson could write about laundering clothes and make it fascinating, and this book about sushi was just as good as his lobster book, and would've been even if I didn't like eating the stuff. Highly recommended.

Book 13 was something someone I know wrote but which isn't generally my sort of thing, and while I really enjoyed reading it due to strong affection for them, I am too close to the material to really feel comfortable reviewing the book, especially since they don't know I have an lj in the first place.

Amuse Bouche, by Anthony BidulkaCute mystery, first in a series about a gay ex-cop PI living in Saskatoon. It's a bit clunky due to small-press-(lack-of)-editing-syndrome, but it was fun, and charming, and I'll be seeking out the rest of them sooner rather than later.

Angel: After the Fall, by Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch, et al..Angel: After the Fall: First Night, by Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch, et al.Read these in a row, had somehow managed to stay unspoiled. Simultaneously darker and fluffier than the show. Dunno how that works, but it's true. Wish I could read the next bit Right Now. Also, I really liked the art gallery stuff; normally, all those sketches and covers leave me cold, but I can see myself coming back to look at these ones some more.

Swallowing Darkness, by Laurell K. HamiltonLots of action, almost no sex, and I feel like the series is essentially wrapped up now, though I do expect at least one more book. Fun, not amazing.
