Donkey Dragonfly

Illustrated non-fiction book about insects and the like, aimed at the 11-15 set. Paintings were so so so lovely, and a lot of thought went into this book. Swoon.

Donkey, by Michael Tobias and Jane Morrison
Meh. The writing was awkward and overly sentimental and they tried to cram in too much information without enough connection. Most of the photography and art was good, or better than good; there was the odd fact I found fascinating (I didn't know Stevenson wrote a donkey book); otherwise, no great shakes.
