Slaves of Swoons

This was so good I tore through it. Second in the Wind on Fire trilogy, theoretically for kids, but it just keeps getting darker and more complicated. I suspect the first one was slightly better, ie tighter, but I didn't care, I just ate this one up.

Thirty-Three Swoons, by Martha Cooley
I very much liked this novel, but it was more obviously effortful than her first novel, The Archivist, to its detriment. That said, had I not been comparing it to its predecessor, I would have no quibbles. Good characters, very interesting story. Must remember to recommend it to my friend the postgraduate in Performance.
