The secret is a) to abjure driving and b) to be able to safely walk and read at the same time. Most of my reading takes place afoot.
Of course, I also sort laundry while reading, do dishes while reading, eat dinner while reading, and oh yeah, I never go anywhere without a just-in-case book.
Plus I've gone from a retail job where I was doing the work of two people well to a library job where I'm doing the work of one person well while having more-suitable-to-me hours and more time at lunch.
Though I will concede that for a variety of reasons I've only been getting about 7 hours of sleep a night for the last couple of weeks instead of my usual 9:).
