How interesting. That Byatt title is the only one of her books I flat out didn't like. I didn't love Angels & Insects, but it was interesting enough. I don't think I even finished The Biographer's Tale. And I love her. I even love and have read her two books of essays. So bravo to you for finishing and reviewing.

Well, I loved Virgin in the Garden -- but my favorite in that series is Still Life. It's so . . . . smart, if I may borrow your one word reviewing technique. Her short stories are my favorite. I rather like your morning ramble mood. It's stylish.
