mistborn trilogy

On the one hand, I really enjoyed this book. It was a page-turning romp with lovable and interesting characters and lots of thinky bits. On the other hand, it has the same flaw Elantris did, ie, "Sir, your structure is showing..." - too much like an RPG in how darn carefully everything was constructed - or rather in how obvious said careful construction was. Too easy to take apart - like Tinkertoys, kinda. But you know, if I hadn't started RPGing I might not even notice that - and I still really liked the book. Looking forward to more by this author.
