Wonderful wonderful kid's dystopian fantasy with an excellent flavor of weird to go along with its loveable characters and redemptive morals. I love this book very much! I am very happy to have read it! You should all go out and read it too!

Transformation, by Carol Berg
I tried reading this a couple times and couldn't get far enough into it to decide if it was worth the bother. But this time I liked it so much I didn't really want to put it down. Satisfying indeed, with real character growth (not the itchy implausible kind). Yay.
