Queen's Own Fool, by Jane Yolen
Historical YA fiction about Mary Queen of Scots from the perspective of one of her court jesters. Very shiny.
Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club, by Dorothy Sayers
An early Lord Peter mystery, very tasty and satisfying though not very deep. A lot of stuff about shell shock in this one that tends to get only alluded to later on, which added pathos.

Sarum, by Edward Rutherford
A monstrously long book, history dressed up with characters and plots. I am not sure whether this really was much better than I had expected, or whether it was just the perfect vacation book. Either way I really liked it.
(147/250)
Restoree, by Anne McCaffrey
Fluffy weird alien political romance; I liked it because I have a very big soft spot for McCaffrey.
(148/250)
Children of Arable, by Dave Belden
Very interesting future dystopia. I really enjoyed the POV character, the world-building, dialogue, plot, etc etc. Have been meaning to read this for like 5 years, glad I finally did.
(149/250)
Swords and Ice Magic, by Fritz Leiber
So old school, so fun. Painfully sexist if it weren't so self-aware. I couldn't read all of these in a row, but once in a while is a very good thing.
