Micah, by Laurell K Hamilton
Why I keep reading and enjoying these I do not know. But, this does not stop me from reading and enjoying them.

The Lives of Agnes Smedley, by Ruth Price
Engrossing, thoroughly researched, and highly readable biography of a very interesting woman. I first heard of Smedley in my Women in Asia class a few years back, when we had to read a collection of her pieces - I'd like to read more of her and this bio whetted my appetite.

The Tomb of the Golden Bird, by Elizabeth Peters
I still want to grow up to be Amelia Peabody. And I did enjoy this latest book in the series. However, it was a bit ploddy for the first two thirds - I can't quite put my finger on why, but I think it was partially because (at least to initial appearances) everyone kept bloody well getting along. Things happened, there was a plot, but it didn't involve any interpersonal conflicts between the characters I'm actually attached to. Once people started bickering, my interest level perked right up. Does this make me a sucker for melodrama? Anyway, I liked the book. But I think this series is really not in need of further entries unless she does something drastic like switching the POV characters.
